I can't see anything happening but if it did it would be franson and maybe bozak if he wanted out. But the leafs are playing well and I don't see them doing much.

And for scrap parts, none the less. I have never seen a supposed professional sports writer, over value his teams players this much. Using the excuse of a salary dump is just ridiculous.

I would trade Grabovski, that's about it..

I can definitely see why the Oilers would be interested in Bozak. He's solid defensively, excellent on the face off circle and would fit nicely on their third line. Especially since the Oilers have been struggling with face offs this season especially with all the injuries. As a leaf fan I would like to resign Bozak if possible, as i think he's a pretty valuable player. The Leafs are also not actively looking to give away our captain who plays 25+ minutes a night. I highly doubt he's available unless it's an overpay.

Ya, I dont know where you get the idea we would love to unload Phaneuf. Sure hes a bit of a bone head and over paid but he's still a top pairing dman who brings a lot of hate to the ice. I wouldnt really want to get rid of anyone you mentioned besides franson if a decent piece came back. I just dont see where he fits in the future on the blueline.

Trading Phaneuf opens up a huge hole on the Leafs defence. He's done a pretty decent job of shutting down other teams' top lines so far and it looks like he might even be getting his shot back. He's definitely not a salary dump. The Leafs aren't desperate for cap space.

Unless we're talking about VanReimsdyke to add some size in the top 6 I don't see a deal happening here. Scrivens and Reimer are both playing well so I don't think they need or want Loungo at this point.

The thing is, if the Leafs have any hope of holding onto Kessel they're going to have to resign Bozak too. They're best friends and Kessel seems like the kind of guy who needs that. I don't see Bozak being traded.

I don't see TO moving Phaneuf at all. And, if they did, they would certainly get more than Whitney and a 2nd round pick.This is taking into consideration Phaneuf's overpayment. Even at 75% of his peak level since his best days, he's still worth 4.5-5m. That gap isn't worth just getting rid of him for nothing. Why would they even want Whitney, anyway?

The only problem with your assessment about trading with the Leafs, is what your willing to trade back to us. Would you want to trade back one of your top 6 that you currently have, to get a major piece? What they may be looking at, is a player like Gunnerson, MacArthur or Kulimen. Would you be willing to trade your first draft pick for two of the three? I don't see the Leafs gutting their team, to get nothing in return.
